Class Overview

This class will focus on advance CNC Milling techniques. The goal of this class is to teach the necessary skills to make the following piece on the CNC mill. This class includes two parts, the second part is optional. The first three hours will be instruction time. If the participant would like to stay for an additional 3 hours, then they could see the piece getting milled out, and if time allowed, based on how many participants stay, could get the opportunity to mill out their pieces with supervision. This additional supervised time cost more.

Not provided. You may purchase it from the instructor for $3/lb

Or you can bring your own material

Recommended material for participants to bring to class: 5.5in x 4.45in x 1.25in aluminum. Call or visit: C&M Iron & Metals that offers scrap for $2/lb.

Class Dates

This class will be offered on:

Sat, June 15th @ 9:00 am -12:00 pm
Lunch 12-1:00 pm
Supervised Shop Time: 1-4:00 pm (additional fee)

Class Duration

3 hours of instruction. The first two hours will focus on teaching advanced stuff on Visual Mills (Horizontal Roughing, Parallel Finishing required for the take home part.) And extra operations like Horizontal Finishing, "plunge operations" and a little about valley and pencil tracing. The final hour will focus on: general Q&A, some project ideas, and show and tell of things that the instructor has made.

Additional fee for:

3 hours of supervised milling time. The participant could see the piece get milled out (takes about 45 minutes, and if time allowed, based on how many participants stay, could get the opportunity to mill out their pieces with supervision. This additional supervised time cost more.
