Grenoble is home of the Laboratoire Ouvert Grenoblois (Grenoble Open Lab)

With a population of 500k inhabitants, the Grenoble area is in the top 20 of French agglomerations. Due to it's geographic situation (200m above sea, with >1500m mountains all around), the city of Grenoble is small (19 sq. km for city center) and densely populated.

With 60k students and 20k researchers, Grenoble is France's second largest research center after Paris.

Using high-speed trains (TGV), Grenoble is less than 3 hours from Paris.
