HACK is an open call for technology-based projects. Inviting participation from designers and artists working for/ with hacker spaces / maker spaces. We are encouraging collaborative works for submission, but this is not a requirement. We are asking for a range of works: From 2D to 3D works, applications, wearable's, installation, objects, and performances. Works from groups or individuals not associated with hacker  / maker spaces will be considered for submission as well.

The emergence of new technology has unveiled a community of people who may or may not consider themselves artists or designers. Hackers are liberating these technologies from the intentions of their original creators, thus creating new raw materials resulting in unintended consequences. Ultimately, traditional borders do not bind these interstitial communities; through re-appropriating, merging, extending, and breaking down barriers through disruption, these hackers are creating something new and innovative.

PLEASE SEND ALL SUBMISSIONS TO:    INFO@HACKPHILLY.COM

SUBMISION GUIDELINES: UP TO THREE WORKS PER TEAM / INDIVIDUAL. All work will be carefully examined. Please be aware that all equipment must be provided by the designer / artist. Any 2D work must be framed and or ready to hang.

Include the word: Submission in the subject line. Please label your photos with your last name followed by the name of the piece and a # if you are submitting multiple images of the same piece: example: "zahn_falling_01.jpg". Links to video or other media is also allowed. Also include your name, address, phone number, and web address for ALL members of your team (if it is a group project).
