Moving cc public domain img.jpg Helsinki Hacklab is still renovating its new location, but things are starting to look good and it is possible to actually make stuff there already.

Please note that our weekly operations start to normalize after the first months of 2015. This means that there still might be exceptions in our regular weekly meetings. If you plan to visit us, please bear in mind that we might have not much time to keep this website or other information up to date, so be in contact with us beforehand and we can tell you the current situation. Some of our tools are still packed in boxes.

Helsinki Hacklab is the first Finnish open hackerspace. We organize workshops, lectures and collaborative projects for our members. For public we have an event series called Open Day where our current projects are demonstrated to anyone with interests. Our focus has been in electronics and embedded systems, but we are open to any agenda. We have workrooms for electronics, woodwork and general computer use plus 3D-priting. Please mind that, as for beginning of 2015, our optical engraver is still under repair.

The space is located about 9 kilometers from Helsinki city center. You can reach us with bus or train. The place is between two train stations: Pitäjänmäki (Helsinki local traffic zone) and Mäkkylä (Espoo zone). These stations also have bus stops, and e.g. route 550 goes past. Check Reittiopas for Helsinki region public transport routes to the lab: Directions to Takkatie 18.

Weekly meetings every Tuesday staring at 17.00 and usually continuing past midnight, but very likely somebody is hanging around in the lab at this very moment too. To visit the space contact us beforehand on our IRC channel or post list, or if you happen to be already around, can't find the door or something, please call our phone number. We are happy to receive visitors!
