LaOS is a Hackerspace community in Laos. Hackerspaces are community-operated physical places all around the world, where people can meet and have fun on their projects. LaOS, the first Hackerspace in Laos, is one of the many hundreds Hackerspaces all around the world. Each Hackerspace is an autonomous entity, but they all share the same philosophy of having fun building things. An hackerspace is an environment where people can learn, share and tinker with technology and software and hardware, work in teams, in particular to solve the curiosities on how to operate and function. The team can participate in international competitions where many new opportunities can be found and created for all.

LaOS mission is to support, create and promote physical and virtual computing, open source hardware and Internet as awhole. To achieve this, LaOS will hold talks, discussions, projects, startups promotion, workshops, organinizing competition locally and will participate in the in international competitions in the near future… Our long-term goal is to spread the concept and philosophy across Laos and to inspire the young generation to understand what is meant to be computer scientist or software and hardware in general.
