Overview[edit]

As of December 2013, Mojave Makers is co-located with the Mojave Junior & Senior High School. We have a partnership with and the generous support of the local school, a 30′x50′ electronics lab and lounge, a 20′x75′ garage shop with a vacuum oven and metalworking shop with a lathe, drill press and mill and bandsaw.

Our aim is to serve the community and its people and their unique blend of expertise and passions by providing a workspace, resources, and community in support of education, creativity and innovation in the arts, science, and engineering, and to enhance Mojave and surrounding communities through outreach by our members.

Here, you can learn engineering skills, work on projects, share and explore ideas or just hang out and chill.

We look forward to seeing you at our space and working with you!

If you are interested in joining or supporting the Mojave Makers, or have questions about what we are all about, please contact us at info@mojavemakers.org

History[edit]

We first established at Mojave Air & Space Port (MHV) on February 2012 by some friends enthusiastic with the idea of a hackerspace in Mojave, CA.

We first opened doors April 2012 to members and held several successful events. The space has taken a great journey starting February 2012 with the conception, moving in on March 2012 and opening in April 2012.

In Summer 2013, the Mojave Junior & Senior High School gave us an offer to co-locate on their campus in exchange for our activities supporting their students' education. We have accomplished this through various classes and projects with the students.
