Oxford Hackspace[edit]

Oxford now has now reached our first goal: that of creating a hack space for the hacking needs of our diverse, creative and talented maker community. We are now open around 50+ hours each week where we can make, break and repair our creations, learn new skills, inspire and get inspired in the company of like-minded people.

Oxford Hackspace underwent a revival in Summer 2012, with new people involved as well as some from before. In November 2012 we began negotiating for a permanent for a studio space. In March 2013 we became incorporated as group and started taking memberships. In July 2013 after extensive negotiation we moved into a studio within OVADA in the centre of Oxford We are now open for over 50 hours a week at busy times 20+ people turn up We are doing some interesting technology projects such as: Quadcopters, a warning system for flooding, biohacking strawberrys. We now have (under lock and key) a couple of 3D printers, some gaming tools, fabric bonding devices...

Wherever your interest lies, this is a space to do it. You're always welcome to do your own thing or take part in workshops. The more diverse our group, the more stuff you learn.

For pointers to our mailing list, wiki and IRC, our web site is here.
