Lessons being learned at SYNHAK[edit]

  • Communication is absolutely essential to a healthy community
  • Make sure your bylaws codify any decision making process.
  • It is possible to build a 200 person hackerspace in just under three years if you're loud enough and have good networking skills
  • Create a Community Working Group or other way to resolve conflict before you need it
  • A clear sense of community is needed to preserve culture during growth.
  • Ensure multiple people are able to use key pieces of infrastructure. Avoid a Bus Factor of 1
