Sector67 is a 501c3 non-profit organization - we offer tours every by e-mail request.

Sector67 was founded in 2010 by renting a small ~1200 sq ft workspace at 2100 Winnebago St in Madison, WI. As of 2012 the property owner was strongly considering tearing down the building to renovate into housing, fortunately this project fell through and the hackerspace could remain through 2018. By allocating a substantial portion of income from 2012-2018 the space was able to save enough to start a fundraising campaign and purchase a permanent location nearby at 56 Corry St, Madison, WI. The building was a 1949 pre-fabricated Butler steel building in substantial disrepair. Ultimately the original roof was lifted 10 feet to add a second story and ongoing work has rendered the space habitable on the first floor. As of 2024 we've added a caretaker's quarters for an onsite caretaker to maintain the facility as well as a two bedroom house to offer housing for employees and/or visitors. Work continues on the second floor of the building to add an elevator, second stairwell, and a rooftop AC unit.
