shackspace[edit]

shackspace (styled "shackspace") is the Stuttgart Hackerspace run by shack e.V. We're a group of nerds and technology enthusiasts (but I bet you already guessed that, eh). Come join us!

History[edit]

  • 2009 Summer: Barcamp Stuttgart, the idea is born
  • 2009 Autumn: 0711_first_steps: First meetup to discuss details
  • 2010-02-20: 'shack', the legal body of shackspace if founded with 23 (sic) founding members
  • 2010-04-01: we're moving into our location in the middle of the train tracks of the northern Stuttgart train station (Nordbahnhof).
  • 2010-04-26: shackspace is used as the backdrop and location for a critical interview by TV station SWR on the ELENA system about to be implemented in Germany.
  • 2010-05-23: open-house at shack.space with many new visitors and even some online celebrities
  • 2010-06-19: shack is hosting the droid camp stuttgart after party (#dcs2010)
  • 2010-08-13/14/15: GTUG-Campout HTML5 (#gtugcampout)
  • 2010-09-03/04/05: KDE Code Sprint
  • 2010-10-05: We are proud to anounce that we are the 2nd largest hackerspace in Germany
  • 2010-10-10: Stuttgart 42
  • 2010-11-05: After months of waiting and back and forth paperwork we're now officially 'shack e.V.', a registered voluntary association
  • 2010-11-18/19/20/21: We participated in the Hobby & Elektronik fair 2010 giving workshops, presentations and showcasing stuff we've made
  • 2010-12-04: DeimHart records an episode of their podcast at shackspace
  • 2010-12-05: First international visitor: Ruiwen from Hackerspace.SG in Singapore
  • 2010-12-08: Visit from Revelation_space's gmc and darkxion
  • 2010-12-27/30: Peace Mission for 27c3
  • 2011-03-26: After lots of help from the community and shackspace members, we managed to find a new location and moved the space to Ulmer Strasse 255, 70327 Stuttgart-Wangen
  • 2011-05-10/11: Google I/O Extended at shackspace
  • 2011-06-18: Open Door at shackspace! Celebrating one year of shackspace, 100 members, the new location.
  • 2012-06-27/28: Google I/O Extended at shackspace
  • 2012-10-30:OSM meeting at shackspace
  • 2012-11-10: Node-JS Workshop
  • 2013-01-25-27: Global Game Jam at shackspace
  • 2013-02-25: Compiler building workshop
  • 2013-04-02: Your password sucks workshop
  • 2013-04-06: Jake Rathburn in concert @ shackspace
