Why Low Barrier To Entry is a good idea

  • Barriers discourage quick/casual contributions.
  • Barriers send a message that we don't value non-members.

What Low Barrier to Entry looks like

  • No/minimal signup/approval process.
  • Ability to be anonymous.
  • Use commonplace tools that people already know how to use

Suggestions for implementation

  • generic mailing list that does not require a particular email account (mailman)
  • anonymous editing of wiki
  • public IRC channel (freenode)
